PCD Awards 2012: don’t miss the opportunity to glamorize your innovation!

PCD Awards single out packaging innovations and « Formulation – Packaging » complementarities in products placed on the European market between 1st January and 31st December 2011.

David Petit received an Award for "Voyage d'Hermès" in Men's and Unisex Perfume Category. He answers our questions :

How do you feel about this award ?

I feel very happy, proud and tremendously satisfied to see that, through PCD, the profession recognises all the work done on Voyage d’Hermès. It is heart-warming.


Packaging is an essential part of the product, which draws on many technologies. I imagine it is not always easy to highlight…

Indeed, particularly in the case of Voyage d’Hermès. The end result is simple, one sees a stirrup turning around a bottle, but it is often the objects that are simplest to use that are the most complicated from a technical stance ! In Voyage d’Hermès, there are 6 plastic parts yet when you look at the product, you see none ! The aim was thus not to highlight the technological performance. Quite the contrary, the goal was to see nothing, feel nothing, hide everything from the general public. It is therefore gratifying to receive this kind of award as we can talk about the inside story and how we managed to achieve this result, whereas with the general public, it is exactly what we hide….
